Extraordinary General Meeting Called for 2 May.
Council have agreed the calling of an EGM for the evening of Friday the 2nd May for members to discuss the problems with the roof following the storm in February. Papers including a discussion document covering the options have now been sent to all members. This is the actual notice sent out.

2013 Bowls Singles Final
Saturday afternoon saw the playing of the delayed 2013 bowls singles final between Jon Palser and Joe Cross.
Members watching saw a very high quality final between skilled players. Initially Joe took a good lead, but this was clawed back.
Jon Palser finally pulled the match back to 20 all and then gained the last two points to triumph at 22 – 20.
Green Opening Saturday 5th April
Saturday saw the President formally send out the first bowl to formally open the green for the season. This was followed by an initial bowl by members present with Jon Palser winning the bottle of champagne for neared bowl to the far ditch. The 2013 delayed singles final was then played and some social bowling.
2013 Bowls Championship Doubles Final
This morning Doug Shearer and David Warwick beat Eddie Oates and Rod Sugden 22-20 in the delayed final to last year’s Bowls Championship.

Entries for Future Club Competitions
At its recent meeting Council were concerned at the number of people in Club Competitions who had not paid the entrance fee and the occasional difficulty in collection of the money after such an entrant had lost.
It was agreed that we should provide small envelopes for members to use to put the money in the tin at the time of entry.
These envelopes will be used as the mechanism for the competition draw, so that any person who has not paid will be entered in the draw
Annual Snooker Match with Lytham Bowling Club
This annual match for the Thwaites Trophy took place on the 28th March at the District Club. The match took place between 6 pairs with the District Club winning 4 – 2 to maintain our perfect record in this competition.

Barker Bleasdale Final Thursday 27th March
This year’s Barber Bleasdale Final took place between Rod Sugden and Mark Sharples.
Mark won a competitive first frame and then dominated a second frame to win the trophy.
