The tickets for the Queens 90th Birthday event are now available behind the bar.
This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the 90th birthday of our longest ever serving monarch. Something I can quite safely say that none of us will ever see again in our own lifetimes!
Tickets are priced at just £10.00 per person, so we hope you will wish to attend. As it is a mixed event, it also gives members a one off opportunity to bring wives and other female relatives and friends to the club. Needless to say, guests are also most welcome.
We have a number of fun events lined up for the afternoon, including outdoor target bowls (which will switch to table bowls if it rains), a quiz about the life of Her Majesty thoughtfully put together by John Sharples, a “Guess the Value” competition of various artefacts which Gerrards Auction Rooms has kindly agreed to run for us, a one off game of bingo (one of the Queen Mother’s favourite pass times!), the President’s “Find the Twins” face matching competition and a raffle that the ladies will be organising. We have some very nice prizes for these competitions, which were bought in the Buckingham Palace gift shop.
The bar will be open at 12.00, with food available from 1.00pm.
The tickets are behind the bar. Please could you put your money in one of the small brown envelopes and write your name on it. The tickets are also numbered on the back, so please could you also write the ticket numbers on the envelope. The envelopes should then be placed in the tin provided.
It promises to be a great day and we hope to get a record number of people for an event at the club.
