About

St. Annes District Club is a traditional gentlemen’s club owned and run by the members. We are a friendly group, free of political or religious influence, and a warm welcome is guaranteed.

Location

The Club is situated in the heart of St-Annes-on-the-Sea on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire.

The first floor of the building is used by the Ladies Bridge Club.

Facilities

The District Club is proud to possess one of the finest Crown Green Bowling Greens in the Fylde, which is overlooked by a large and well appointed sun lounge. We also have two excellent full-size Snooker tables which are regularly brushed, ironed and recovered with top quality cloths.

There is ample opportunity for members to enjoy extended sessions of bowls / snooker without the problem of overcrowding which is found elsewhere.

Also available is a Reading / Games Room. The Club has recently installed a Pool table.

Members and their Guests have access to a well stocked bar.

Comfortable leather seating is in situ throughout the main Club and Reading Room.

Members are given their own key and allowed to use the club at their convenience. There is ample parking at the front of the building for members and visitors.

Social Calendar

Events are arranged throughout the year, from catered evenings in to trips out, so new members are soon integrated and existing members are kept occupied.

The bowling green and snooker tables are popular for impromptu friendly games and regular handicap competitions. Members also have the opportunity to represent the club in the local leagues (with all levels of ability catered for).

Membership

Our only restriction is members must be men of good and courteous conduct and conform to a smart/casual dress code.

A prospective member normally requires a proposer from amongst the existing membership with whom they are well acquainted. Though Council will consider applications from unknown individuals on a case by case basis.

N.B. Country membership (at a reduced subscription rate) is available to applicants who live more than 25 miles from the Club. Applications from people who own holiday accommodation in Lytham St. Annes will also be considered.

To find out more, or to apply for membership, please contact the Club Secretary.

Council

The Council is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Club on behalf of the members and is elected from amongst the membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

President

The Club President is the honorary leader of the District Club, presides over our formal events, and ensures the spirit of the Club’s constitution is maintained. The new President is confirmed at the AGM and is responsible for selecting his Vice president (who will become the next President).
